Un, deux, trois...

It’s taken many, many months of waiting, but finally last night; I started a game of football. Yes, luck may have been on my side as it was a night game, which always seems to bring down the number of available players due to work commitments, but you have to take your chances. I’ve mentioned previously about my complete disappointment at the lack of games I’ve played this season, but I’ve never questioned my ability, only my patience has been called into question.

About a month or so ago, I actually told the managers I’d had enough, but a chat with the team captain persuaded me to stay. Even after that, there have been a couple of occasions when things seemed to have been getting worse – still not playing when players in my position have been injured and to top it all, not playing any part in a major cup final last week (except keeping the bench warm).

But last night I got my chance playing in midfield, which is my preferred position, but not my usual defensive role I’ve played in for the last couple of season. Although it took me about 20 mins to settle into the game, I still managed to score a hat trick in the 10-0 drubbing of the opposition. If that isn’t enough to get the managers asking themselves some serious questions about me starting the next game, then I don’t know what is!!

We need to see more 10-0 scores. Just generally. Liverpool should be beating whoever they're playing 10-0... ;-)
