Semester 2

Tuesday this week was my first day back at uni and the start of the second semester; it seems an age since I was last there on a regular basis, attending lectures. As part of my PE pathway, I have to cover dance and gymnastics as they are part of the national curriculum. When I say cover, I mean take part. Yesterday it was gymnastics that was first up, something I haven't done for over 15 years. There weren't any black plimsolls this time though, just bare feet on the cold gym floor.

We didn't just have to learn how to perform some very basic moves, like forward, backward and teddy bear rolls, but learn how to teach them too. With all the tumbling and rolling I felt somewhat sick by the end of the two hour session, which doesn't bode well for the cartwheels and handstands we'll be doing next week.

It's dance on Friday and I've heard we'll be learning how to skip to Irish music; I'm really looking forward to that!
