Gortoz a ran

I've really no idea what's going on with my body at the moment. For months I've been waking up around 6:30 every morning, wide awake and finding it hard to get back to sleep. Yet this week, I'm struggling to get up most mornings anything before 9:00. I'm hoping it's just down to my body trying to catch up on an exhausting week in Malvern, with normal sleeping service resuming shortly. Although being awake early can be frustrating at times, I much prefer it that way than sleeping in too late; anything past 7:30 is late for me these days.

But maybe I need to listen to my body, just go with it and let it do whatever it needs to do to get back to normal. Sadly that philosophy means I'm also going to have to listen to my right knee, which is telling me it's not doing too well of late. I went to football training a couple of weeks ago for the first time in ages, and ended up taking a heavy knock on my calf. I went for a run the following day, hoping to run it off but I think it was one of those cases where surrounding muscles and joints over-compensate to help out the injured muscle and end up getting injured themselves.

There's a 10k race coming up at the start of May that I really wanted to do well in, but my training time is being eaten into considerably with me not being able to actually run. I'm getting seriously annoyed by it, especially as I've been using my runs as an outlet for recent frustration. I'm itching to go out right now, but I know I can't as I'll only make my knee worse. Bollocks.
