Risin' up to the challenge of our rival
Shiny new trainers? Really comfy and light. New running top? Nice and cool for this hot weather. Improved training montage? Inspirational. My body? An absolute bag of nails. About a month ago I went to circuit training not feeling any different, until I started the first station when I thought hmm, no energy. I haven't been right since. It's like my body has smacked that big red button labeled "Emergency Stop" and I have no idea why.
I've attempted several runs recently and although I start off well enough, after about 15-20 mins it's as if somebody's hooked me up to an IV drip and started to pump pure, undiluted lethargy into me. My legs turn to lead and my feet become encased in concrete. I'd move quicker if I walked, which sadly is what I end up doing. The thing is, I haven't got a cold and I don't feel ill. In recent months my body has taken everything I've thrown at it. Now it can barely take the impact of a wet lettuce.
