A storm is coming

I've been thinking in recent weeks that the start of my second year at uni is drawing close and that I'm going to need to start switching from "work mode" back into some state of academic thinking. A few dates have been floating around in my head about when the year will start and when I'll be moving to Worcester, but there still seemed a fair amount of time left before things start to happen. However, following conversations tonight with my soon to be fellow housemates, talking about when we'll be moving in and entering the semester dates onto my calendar, the realization of just how close it really is has smacked me around the face.

There's so much I need to do, things to buy for the move, final decisions to be made about what modules I want to take, preparations for some football coaching sessions I'll be doing at a primary school near uni and deciding exactly when I'll be moving. My iCal display for September is a multicoloured show of different events, a stark contrast to August, which has been absolutely, totally and utterly empty of any entries. I prefer it when I'm busy, rather than having so much time on my hands I just don't know what to do with it. September certainly looks like it's going to be a busy one.

Other news in brief includes, some daily entries on Phoenix Tales, which is somewhat of a rarity of late (as are posts on the blog, but I can see me posting more from now on), so head on over and check them out. An update on my running is that after a break of about two or three weeks due to my foot injury and a cold, a run earlier this evening has resulted in a complete stop in my running for the foreseeable future. My foot is even worse than before I started to rest and has left me incredibly frustrated. That 10k race earlier in the summer, during which I nearly baked to death, and the one I've tried to obliterate from my memory, has a lot to answer for.

Talking of things that are painful, I had to get back into my eleven year old Vauxhall Corsa today after acquiring the use of a brand new Mercedes for the entire Bank Holiday weekend. Ouch, that hurt.
